This is a very popular, and very pretty, Columbia walk. It's paved all the way and mostly shady, and just under 2.0 miles. There are underpasses so you can get across Brokenland Parkway and Cradlerock to and from the lake, without crossing busy streets. On weekends and evenings, it's best to park in the parking lot of the Lakeview Office Building.
