How much larger was the Persian Empire than the Assyrian Empire?

How much larger was the Persian Empire than the Assyrian Empire? I think the Persian Empire is two time bigger because in the map it show that Persian Empire go from the Indus river all the way to the Mediterranean sea and Assyrian Empire is only the size of the Fertile Crescent.
