Serbia got cocky, got rekt by the Quadruple Alliance (Croatia-Hungary-Albania-Bulgaria) while Serbia's allies Greece was bribed with land, whilst Romania was threatened. Russia couldn't help because NATO was keeping it busy in Ukraine, but Russia still gave very old guns, tanks..etc. to Serbia.
